I didn’t know Liv Pangburn very well at all, but so many people close to me knew him more closely. He was recently killed in a bike/truck accident.

He was someone I knew from my queer community, and he worked for more than two years with my partner at the Family Equality Council in Boston. My sense of loss is so shallow, I’m sure, compared to those who were his friends, his partner, his family. But I’ve been thinking about him a lot today.  I played this tonight after I got home from bell-ringing practice.

Part 1

This was such a long week! My boss is going to be out of the shop next week, and we have a lot of new employees. I stayed late today trying to get everything set up so that there won’t be as much chaos on Monday. Sometimes it’s hard to let go of the stress of the work week, even though it can be easy to stop thinking about the content of the work once I’ve left.

So here I am, trying to let it go. Two more parts to come!

Part 2. Seeing if tumblr will let me post two audio posts in one day!

I like to imagine that I’m inviting friends and family from far away to my living room for a couple minutes every time I make one of these posts. And you can hear my housemates bustling about the kitchen in the background…

Last night at home with all the roommates in my new place. Maggie and Mel were dancing to the music, and Nicole was knitting.  What I didn’t realize while I was playing (because I was in the other room!) was that Maggie was dancing to the notes I was playing, and Mel was doing some sort of jerky improv to the squeaks of the damper pedal! Hah! I’m going to go oil that thing soon – it’s kind of distracting 🙂
